Responsibilities: 

Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) invites applications for full-time faculty positions for its flagship school, the Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB). SDSB currently has vacancies at various academic levels (Assistant, Associate and Full Professor) across a range of business disciplines: operations management, analytics, marketing, accounting, finance, entrepreneurship, technology and innovation management.  Individuals with university teaching expertise in heritage management, retail management, supply chain management and health care management are also invited to apply.

Applications are invited for both full-time permanent (tenure track) or fixed-term contracts (1-3 years).

The School
SDSB is recognized as the most prestigious and only AACSB accredited business school in Pakistan and one of the leading management development institutions in the region.  SDSB has particular strengths in case based teaching, blended learning and high-quality research of contextual relevance and international significance.

SDSB stresses teaching excellence, business engagement and strong research output. It is committed to advancing programmes of study and activities which cut across disciplines. The School has well established academic programmes at the graduate (MS, MBA, EMBA and PhD) and the undergraduate (BSc Accounting and Finance and Management Sciences) levels. SDSB is also developing further graduate programmes in inter-disciplinary areas. It boasts research active faculty as well as outstanding teachers. SDSB academics have published in highly ranked international journals, and are active in numerous professional associations and institutional initiatives. SDSB’s faculty are also engaged in policy making, teaching cases development, and executive development courses attended by administrators and senior managers from leading organisations in the country.

Selection Criteria
Applicants at the Assistant Professor level are normally expected to hold a PhD (in a relevant discipline), demonstrate their research potential (such as ABDC-A, ABS-3 journals among others) and/or produce scholarly and applied research.  They should have a commitment to excellence in teaching (in English), good communicational skills and networking ability. Outstanding individuals who possess excellent teaching abilities and are engaged in applied research will be considered for limited term contracts initially. Applicants for higher level positions levels must demonstrate teaching excellence and have a track record of publications in high-impact international journals and a demonstrated capacity to pursue research funding.  They should also have the potential to develop and lead academic programmes.
Successful applicants should be able to design and teach courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in different modes including blended learning.  They should have the capacity to supervise Master’s and PhD candidates. Active participation across SDSB and LUMS activities is also expected.
