Profs. Alex Lee (Rochester) and Noaman G Ali (LUMS) are seeking a research assistant in or around Lahore for a historical political economy project concerning Punjab’s canal colonies. The position is full-time for three months, with a strong likelihood of a further nine months extension (i.e., a one-year contract), and will start immediately. There will be a four-week probationary period. The job requires mobility, as you will be staying in different cities for extended periods, and the ability to collaborate, as you will be working with and under the supervision of another research assistant. Additionally, you should be able to read handwritten Urdu easily, possess your laptop, and have excellent experience with Microsoft Excel and data entry. Experience navigating government offices is highly desirable.
Duration: 3 months (with a strong likelihood of contract renewal).
