Financial Consultant – Financial Modelling and Risk Analysis for EV Projects

Duration: 40 hours per month (Flexible based on the work requirement)

We seek a highly skilled financial consultant with expertise in financial modelling and risk analysis, specifically within the context of Electric Vehicle (EV) projects. This consultancy service will be key in supporting the organization by providing in-depth financial projections, risk assessments, and sensitivity analysis for various EV-related initiatives. The consultant will be expected to commit 40 hours per month to assist in developing robust financial models, assumptions, and projections, ensuring that each project's financial feasibility and potential risks are thoroughly evaluated.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Financial Modelling: 
•Develop and maintain financial models for EV projects, including costs, revenue, cash flows, and profitability. Identify project funding needs, draw down schedules and develop options for different funding instruments required for the project. 
•Tailor models to project specifics and ensure accurate assumptions.

2.Assumptions Development: 
•Collaborate with teams to define and update key assumptions (e.g., inflation, market growth, regulatory factors, capex and opex, capacity utilization, working capital requirements, etc.). 
•Align assumptions with current trends and project conditions.

3.Risk Assessment: 
•Conduct risk assessments, identifying financial, operational, and market risks. 
•Identify and highlight key risks and develop strategies for risk mitigation.

4.Projections & Scenario Analysis:
•Provide financial projections and scenario analyses for EV projects.
•Assess and evaluate the impact of funding options to optimize returns and sustainability.

5.Sensitivity Analysis:
•Perform sensitivity analysis to evaluate the impact of key variables on financial outcomes.
•Determining valuations at various time intervals to help the project raise private funding.
•Provide insights to identify key performance drivers.

6.Reporting & Documentation:
•Present findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders.
•Document assumptions, methodologies, and results for internal use.
•Coordinating and getting the financial model comprehensively vetted/evaluated by any 3rd party if so, necessitated by any funding agency. Assisting projects in preparing and completing the budgets for grant applications to raise project grants.
•Responding and clarifying queries of various stakeholders on the financial model and updating the model when necessary.
•Developing explanatory videos to provide a detailed overview of the financial model.

Qualifications:

1.Education:
•Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
•Professional certifications in financial modelling, risk management, or similar areas are a plus (e.g., CFA, FRM).

2.Experience:
•Proven experience (at least 8-10 years) in financial modelling, risk assessment, and financial projections.
•Prior experience in the automotive, energy, or electric vehicle industry is highly desirable.
•Experience in sensitivity analysis, scenario planning, and economic forecasting.

3.Technical Skills:
•Expertise in advanced Excel modelling techniques, including financial formulas, scenario modelling, and data visualization. Familiarity with financial modelling software or tools (e.g., MATLAB, R, or specialized EV modelling software) is an advantage. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to interpret and synthesize complex data.

4.Soft Skills:
•Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
•Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
•Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.

Additional Information:
This is a part-time consultancy position, requiring a commitment of 40 hours per month (flexible).
The role may involve some collaborative work with the internal finance, operations, and project management teams.
Flexibility in working hours and location, with occasional meetings or calls as required.
