Role Summary
The Grants Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the grant process, including identifying funding opportunities, developing proposals, tracking deliverables, ensuring compliance, and maintaining relationships with funders. This role works closely with program, finance, and executive teams to align funding with organizational priorities and impact goals.
Key Accountabilities
- Grant Strategy & Sourcing
• Research and identify relevant grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, government agencies, and multilaterals.
• Develop and maintain a pipeline of current and prospective grant opportunities.
• Build and maintain a calendar of deadlines for proposals, reports, and renewals. - Proposal Development
• Collaborate with program and finance teams to develop compelling, data-driven proposals and budgets.
• Customize applications based on donor requirements.
• Manage submission through relevant platforms (e.g., Grants.gov, donor portals). - Grant Administration & Compliance
• Monitor grant agreements for key deliverables, restrictions, and compliance requirements.
• Track grant activities and expenses to ensure alignment with budgets and donor expectations.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for grant audits and due diligence. - Reporting & Documentation
• Prepare high-quality narrative and financial reports for funders.
• Maintain organized records of grant documentation, reports, and communications. - Donor & Internal Stakeholder Coordination
• Liaise with donors and funding agencies as needed.
• Work cross-functionally with program leads and finance team to ensure successful implementation of grant-funded activities.
Application Instructions
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Management, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in grants management, fundraising, or donor relations.
- Proven track record of successful grant applications and reporting.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Excel and grant management tools.
- Experience working with institutional funders (e.g., USAID, UN agencies, Gates Foundation).
- Familiarity with budget development and financial tracking.
