Position Purpose
The Visual Designer & Animator is responsible for the creation and execution of visual assets, both static and animated, across a range of platforms, including digital learning content, websites, social media, and print materials. The role involves conceptualizing and designing elements that strengthen learner experience and institutional storytelling. This position plays a key role in the visual development of online and blended learning offerings, working closely with video production, marketing, instructional designers, and subject matter experts to ensure cohesive and engaging design solutions. The designer also supports institutional initiatives aimed at advancing technology-enabled learning, with a focus on producing inclusive, accessible, and contextually relevant visual content.
Key Accountabilities
· Develop graphics, animations, and illustrations for online learning content across all phases of production.
· Design and oversee graphics and animations for both internal and external initiatives including newsletters, events, and workshops.
· Produce and maintain design assets, including vision boards, for digital learning projects, developing a cohesive visual language and style guides for educational content.
· Collaborate with video production specialists, editors, and instructional designers to understand course content and translate it into effective visual concepts and messaging.
· Contribute to social media content planning, strategy, and calendar execution in collaboration with the creative team.
· Collaborate on the design and development of digital platforms, including websites and social media, ensuring a consistent visual identity.
· Integrate feedback into visual deliverables and continuously improve the design quality of ongoing and future projects.
· Support in-studio design efforts by assisting with set design and optimizing on-screen visuals when needed.
· Establish and maintain a design asset library to support scalability and efficiency across projects.
· Support efficiency by identifying ways to reduce production time and cost without compromising design quality.
Knowledge & Skills
· Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, After Effects, Photoshop, InDesign) with the ability to adopt new tools as needed.
· Strong technical capability in both graphic design and animation/motion graphics.
· Familiarity with Canva is an advantage.
· Strong grasp of visual design principles, such as composition, colour theory, typography, and spatial relationships.
· Up-to-date understanding of visual design trends, tools, and best practices, with the ability to apply them to enhance the quality and innovation of design outputs.
· Ability to translate brand identity into visually engaging educational content that resonates with diverse audiences.
· Familiarity with instructional design and multimedia principles, with the ability to apply them effectively to content development in an educational context.

Travel/Work Schedule
Business hours are 8:30 am–5:00 pm, with flexibility to accommodate individual and team workflows.
· Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts (BFA), Visual Communication, Graphic Design, or a related field.
· Minimum 2–3 years of professional experience in visual design, preferably in an educational, media, or digital content development environment.
· Demonstrated experience producing visual assets for a range of platforms including video, web, social media, and print.
· Proven ability to manage projects from concept to final execution in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
