Position Purpose

We are seeking a skilled Content Writer to join our dynamic team and support the Office of Research’s communication and research initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong writing, editing, and drafting skills, with a keen eye for detail and clarity. In addition to content development, the role includes project management responsibilities, ensuring timely processing, adherence to institutional and donor policies, and effective coordination with faculty, departments, and external partners to enable smooth and compliant project implementation.

Key Accountabilities

  • Engage in content writing, editing, and designing bi-annual newsletters, annual reports, and reports for donors and stakeholders. Design and manage content for social media and the website, maintaining a cohesive and engaging online presence.
  • Ensure high standards of written English in all communications. Proofread and edit content to ensure consistency in tone, style, and messaging. Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail in content creation and management.
  • Develop and design visually appealing materials such as presentations, infographics, policy briefs, and social media content
  • Design and format research outputs including reports, policy briefs, toolkits, and publications Design communication materials such as brochures, flyers, banners, and social media creatives
  • Contribute efficiently to departmental events and project management activities. Serve as the key operational liaison between Faculty, Office of Research, Finance, Procurement, HR, and external funding agencies.
  • Perform any additional responsibilities, as assigned by senior management, that support the achievement of departmental and organizational objectives, whether directly or indirectly. 

Knowledge and Skills

  • Considerable knowledge of office procedures and practices. Basic level skills in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and CorelDRAW.
  • Strong verbal, reading, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent content writing, graphical representation, and high-level document preparation skills.
  • Proficiency in the latest IT office productivity tools.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Qualification
  • At least a Bachelor’s (Hons) degree or equivalent from an HEC recognised institute.
  • At least 1–2 years of relevant experience.
