Duration: August 2026 – January 2027
The Research Associate will support the Programme Coordination Office by liaising closely with the Programme Coordination Lead in the parallel administration of the 4-year LLB, 5-year LLB, and LLM programmes. The role combines academic coordination, administrative support, student advising, and faculty liaison to ensure the smooth delivery of academic programmes and holistic student support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with the Registrar’s Office on course planning, enrollment matters, scheduling, examinations, and degree requirement verification across LLB and LLM programmes.
- Assist in coordinating curriculum-related processes, including updates to academic policies, student handbooks, and inter-school coordination.
- Support the administration of student-related academic processes, including grade petitions, directed coursework, transfers, and exchange student credit evaluations.
- Assist in organizing curriculum and stream meetings, including coordination with faculty and preparation of relevant academic documentation.
- Provide research and coordination support to faculty in curriculum planning, course outline development, and preparation of materials for academic review committees.
- Support internal and external communication of the Programme Coordination Office and ensure effective coordination between faculty, students, and administrative units.
- Assist with academic research, documentation, and process improvement initiatives relevant to programme delivery and curriculum development.
LLM Programme Management
- Coordinate postgraduate-specific academic milestones, including LLM thesis supervisor allocation, thesis submission timelines, and defense scheduling.
- Act as the primary administrative focal point for the LLM cohort, managing specialized inquiries regarding graduate tracks, research methodologies, and advanced seminars.
- Assist in tracking LLM credit requirements, ensuring graduation audits align with the specific statutory requirements of postgraduate legal education.
- Support the integration of international or visiting legal scholars and exchange students within the LLM program.
Student Advising & Support Unit
- Serve as a core point of contact for student academic advising, guiding both undergraduate (LLB) and postgraduate (LLM) students on course selection, prerequisites, and graduation pathways.
- Monitor and track students on academic probation or those facing academic difficulties, collaborating with faculty advisors to implement remedial strategies.
- Liaise with the central LUMS Student Affairs, Advising, and Wellness units to provide holistic support and appropriate referrals for students experiencing personal or mental health challenges.
- Maintain up-to-date, confidential student advising files, tracking progress reports and documentation for academic petitions or special accommodations.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong organizational skills

- Proficiency in academic data management
Ability to multitask between undergraduate & graduate programme
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Education, Law (LLB), or related fields.
Experience: Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in academic administration, student advising, or a higher education setting.
