The Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law is seeking a proactive and highly organized Clinic Development Associate to support the clinic and school administration, development, and day-to-day operations of its pro bono Legal Aid Clinic and Clinical Legal Education Programme.
The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating clinic activities, managing administrative and operational processes. The role requires excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills, with a strong commitment to clinical legal education and access to justice.
Programme Administration and Operations :
- Coordinate day-to-day operations of the Legal Aid Clinic.
- Maintain organized records, files and documentation related to clinic activities.
- Coordinate meetings, maintain schedules, prepare meeting minutes and follow up where required.
- Assist with planning and coordinating projects, events, gust lectures and other initiatives undertaken by the clinic.
- Maintain communication with different departments to complete administrative processes and facilitate clinic operations.
Clinical Programme Coordination :
- Coordinate court visits, client interviews, prison visits and other experimental learning opportunities for students.
- Collaborate with courts, prisons, social welfare departments and other organizations to make necessary arrangements for clinic activities.
- Provide logistical and administrative support to faculty members and students participating in the clinical programme.
Case/ Data Management :
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of cases and client information.
- Manage and regularly update the clinic’s e-portal and case database.
- Ensure that clinic records and documentation are complete, organized and up to date.
Stakeholder Engagement and Partnerships :
- Provide regular updates on ongoing projects and prepare reports for the Supervisor, Clinic Head and School Dean.
- Draft correspondence, reports, presentations and other documents as required.
Community Outreach and Events:
- Organize legal awareness progammes, workshops, seminars, guest lectures and community engagement activities.
- Support the development of partnerships with legal aid organizations, NGOs, government bodies and other institutes to strengthen the work of clinic.
- Organise public legal education sessions, ensuring access to justice for underprivileged communities
Compliance :
- Ensure that clinic activities are carried out in accordance with institutional policies, legal aid regulations, procedural deadlines and relevant legal and ethical standards.
General Administrative Support
- Carry out any other responsibility assigned by the immediate Supervisor, Clinic Head, or School dean to support the objectives of the legal Aid clinic and clinical progamme.
Knowledge & Sills:
- Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong legal research, drafting, and report writing skills.
Education:
LLB from a recognized institution.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years' relevant professional experience in programme administration, project coordination, legal operations, higher education administration, legal aid, or a related field.
- Experience working with universities, NGOs, development partners, donor-funded projects, or legal institutions will be an advantage.
