July 26, 2024
LUMS HR, in collaboration with Campus Health, recently hosted a pivotal event dedicated to raising hepatitis awareness on 26 July 2024, themed “It’s Time for Action.” This theme underscores the urgency to accelerate efforts in eliminating viral hepatitis, emphasising the need for widespread testing and treatment.
The event commenced with an informative awareness session conducted by the Pakistan Kidney & Liver Institute and Research Centre (PKLI&RC) at the SS Auditorium in the Academic Block. Dr. Imran Ali Syed, FCPS (PAK), ESEGH (UK), Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist at PKLI&RC, was the guest speaker, providing expert insights into hepatitis prevention and management.
Following the session, attendees engaged in a quiz with attractive prizes for the winners. The day continued with a full-day medical camp organised by Excel Lab, set up at the LUMS Medical Centre. The camp offered discounted Hepatitis B and C testing for the LUMS community from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
LUMS will continue to take such initiatives for community health and well-being through informed action and accessible services.
